2012 Music Festival Preview
Beginning in the late '60s and early '70s (Woodstock, Monterey, Altamont, Isle of Wight) warm weather outdoor rock festivals have been crowd magnets. Although a few are struggling, a number of major festivals are parlaying A-list classic rock acts into big ticket sales.
| Festival International 2012
Festival International de Louisiane, voted Best World Music Festival in our 2012 Readers' Choice Awards, will be held April 25-29 in beautiful downtown Lafayette, LA. As always, the festival is rooted in Francophone music from around the world, but also focuses on other cultures who have contributed to Louisiana's history.
| Artists To Watch At Merlefest
The annual Merlfest bluegrass and acoustic music festival has been taking place in Wilkesboro,NC, since 1988. Celebrating 25 years in 2012, the festival will welcome some of the biggest stars to have graced its stages - including Doc Watson, Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Vince Gill, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and countless others.
