Greatest Women In Rock Music
From the beginning, rock music has too often been an all-boys club that excludes women from its inner circles. But not always: The following list celebrates the most prominent, influential and significant women in contemporary rock, who are keeping rock fresh and inclusive at a time when men still dominate the airwaves and the charts.
| Christian Female Artists
While the number of women in Christian music grows every year, the names you see in the Weekly Contemporary Christian Music Charts are still predominantly male instead of female. Since 1969, the Dove Awards have honored the best female vocalists in Christian music, but through the first 30 years of the award, only 12 different female vocalists have taken home the honor.

Women have played an extraordinary part in American History. Whether moving toward freedom from slavery, freedom in the workplace, or the freedom to make one's own choices, women have positioned themselves as voices of empowerment and endurance. The women of American Folk Music are no exception.
