| | From Angela Bradley, your About Programming Editor Dear Subscriber, Welcome to this week's edition of your About Programming Newsletter. This week we have articles about Java, Delphi, C++ and Databases just to name a few. Have a great week! | | The JVM Language Summit 2012 The date for the annual JVM Language Summit has been set for July 30th-August 1st, 2012 at Oracle's Santa Clara campus. It's a chance for VM implementers to get together and talk about "language design and implementation on the JVM, and the present and future capabilities of the JVM itself". The agenda will be updated when the speakers have been finalized. | Implementing OnStateIconClick In TListView - Radio Group I needed to have a way to allow a user to select / check / mark one item from the list. I could not use the Selected property as it was also needed that one item can be selected while the other can be checked. The Checkboxes property was not of help. Checkboxes allows checking several items at a time. What I needed is something like a radio group where only one list item in a list view can be checked at a time. I also needed for some items to be non-checkable. | Demo Software Source Code Released I've never been part of the Demo scene, as I was either working on games, aerospace or Finance and I'm not very musical! Demos are a different type of software where developers try to release stunning visual effects and procedurally generated music to go with it. It started with the CBM-64 in the 80s and continues to this day. Sites like pouet.net and scene.org are popular places for Demoscene software. | SQL Server Migration Assistant SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) provides database administrators with a smooth way to transition from their existing database platform to Microsoft SQL Server. The migration assistants are able to transfer data to either a server-based SQL Server database or to Microsoft's SQL Azure cloud-based database platform. | | | | Programming Ads | | | | Featured Articles | | | | More from About.com | | | | | | Financial Emergencies An unexpected change in your financial situation can be incredibly stressful.
