Artist In The Wings: Now, Now
Minneapolis pop trio Now, Now are being touted as one of the top discoveries from this week's SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. Listening to the one minute and 40 seconds that make up the song "Dead Oaks" below, it is not hard to tell why.

New R&B/Soul Music: March 2012
This month's highlights are Letters From Birmingham, the fifth studio album by "American Idol" season 2 winner Ruben Studdard; and The MF Life, the long-delayed sophomore album by Canadian singer Melanie Fiona. Others releasing new music during the month include another "American Idol" alumnus, Elliott Yamin, and classic R&B/Soul singer Lee Fields.

Artist To Watch: Laura Gibson
Laura Gibson's music makes perfect sense in the context of the wider Pacific Northwest folk and Americana culture - fellow Portlanders like Laura Veirs, Nick Jaina, and Loch Lomond could be suitable comparisons. Fans of the Fleet Foxes and Decemberists may also appreciate Gibson's lush, imaginative, and literary approach to narrative songwriting.
