| | From Bob Schulties, your About Auto & Wheels Editor It's hard to say goodbye to someone who just loved what they did. And such is the case with Carroll Shelby. That man loved him some cars. | | Remembering Carroll Shelby Known for his high-performance AC Cobras and, more recently, his Mustang Cobras, Carroll Shelby was an enthusiast's enthusiast. In high school, my buddy Big Mike had a Dodge Charger Shelby from '84 or '85. I don't remember it being particularly fast, however. I do remember the tape Mike used to keep the lower part of the front fascia from falling over (hit a lot of curbs back then). Boy, am I glad that was a small part of Shelby's history. | What is Electronic Stability Control? You know those tests you see on TV auto reviews? Where they jerk the wheel violently to go from one lane into the other? I never gave those tests a lot of credence, but I'll tell you what: I saw it happen on the Verrazano Bridge Sunday night (Mother's Day). I have no idea how the big, big Ford didn't go down. | Luxury SUVs by Class OK, enough of this nonsense. You wanna know the best of the best? SUVs Guide Jason breaks 'em down and practically goes to the dealer with you to show you what you really wanna buy. After looking at the list... Heck, I know the Ford Flex isn't luxury, but it's darn sweet if you ask me. | Test Drive: 2012 BMW 328i My buddy Big Mike (above) graduated to a BMW that he complains about every time I see him. It's 11 years old, I say -- maybe it's time to upgrade. Since he's gone convertible, I'm not sure there's any going back to sedanville for him. Think you could go back to a regular ol' sedan after years and years of convertibling? | | | | Auto & Wheels Ads | | | | Featured Articles | | | | | | Sign up for more free newsletters on your favorite topics | | | | You are receiving this newsletter because you subscribed to the About Auto & Wheels newsletter.
