From Megan Romer, your About Books & Literature Editor
Over here at About.com, we're officially in the full swing of things with our site-wide Readers' Choice Awards, which touch on topics from Books to Lawn Equipment to Music to Baby Clothes.

Readers' Choice Awards
Two of our books and literature sites are participating in this year's Readers' Choice Awards, so have a look and cast your votes. The rules specify one vote per person per category per day, so vote early and vote often!

Books Into Movies 2012
On Oscar night, we saw the vast majority of the Best Picture Nominees coming from literary adaptations. I wonder which books-into-movies from 2012 will receive the same honors!

RIP Jan Berenstain
Children's book author Jan Berenstain passed away on Friday at the age of 88. I adored The Berenstain Bears series when I was a kid, and I suspect the series will remain beloved by children for generations to come.

Review: 'The Flame Alphabet' by Ben Marcus
Need something new to read? If you enjoy dark, post-modern literature, this one might fit the bill: what if the angry words your children spoke to you could not only hurt you emotionally, but physically as well? That's the premise of this dystopian story, wherein preteens are able to transmit, via their words, a hideous degenerative disease, leaving parents running for their lives.
