| | From Angela Bradley, your About Programming Editor Dear Subscriber, Welcome to this week's edition of your About Programming Newsletter. This week we are looking at how to transfer data between Access and Excel. Next we look at the two different Print statements in VB.NET. Finally we look at Ruby 1.9.3. Have a great week! | | Transferring Data Between Access and Excel Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access are both powerful tools for handling large quantities of data within the Microsoft Office suite. Often, you might find yourself needing to move data back and forth between the two products. | October in Review October is the month when I start reviewing the changes to web page editors and add profiles of any new web editors that I've learned about in the past year. This year I saw a lot of new "no HTML required" type editors come on the market or get pushed more heavily by their makers. Many of them provide ways to create HTML5 and CSS3 animation without needing to know either of those languages. | Print Statement - This goes back to DOS! Did you know that there are two different Print statements you can use in VB.NET? The Print statement is something that was used a lot when Visual Basic and DOS were both being used, but today, not so much. | Ruby 1.9.3 Released! Ruby 1.9.3-p0 has been released. No release candidates, betas or preview releases, this is the final thing. If you've been putting off looking at the 1.9.3 branch, now is the time because it's not going to get any more "done." You can install it from source, or let RVM do its thing. Just rvm install 1.9.3 and you're done. | | | | Programming Ads | | | | Featured Articles | | | | More from About.com | | | | | | What is ADD?
