2012 Honda Civic Hybrid Swings and Misses
 Swing and a miss? I wonder if that should be a start and a stall. Blast it all! Honda updates the Civic Hybrid and, still, the Prius pulls out ahead. Okay, so maybe you can skip the hybridized Civic and stick with the other ones? You'd save some cash and maybe you could use it to take the bus sometimes. Or buy a Segway.
| Test Drive: 2011 Subaru Outback
 It pains me that station wagons and hatchbacks aren't more popular in the US. The sedan style is more popular, but to me it's akin to wearing a suit. Sure, you're pretty, but you can't do much else than stand around (being pretty). The Outback is about as close as you can get to wearing a suit while still being useful. Are there similar cars? Yes, but nothing quite so useful. Here are two pretty good challengers:
