| | From Angela Bradley, your About Programming Editor Dear Programming Subscriber,Welcome to this week's edition of your About Programming Newsletter. This week we take a look at an extended database tutorial for VB users. We also look at the new HTML5 attributes for the IFRAME element in HTML. Have a great week! | | New HTML5 Attribues of the IFRAME Element There are three new attributes of the IFRAME element: srcdoc, sandbox, and seamless. They allow you to define content, security and design features of your iframes. And this article will teach you how to use them. | Database Tutorial Extended Just a quick note to let you know that new installments of the Database Centered Tutorial for Beginners have been posted. The idea behind this series is to demonstrate Visual Studio and SQL Server in easy steps so even beginners can use them. Too often technical articles either don't show beginners the latest tools, or else are written in language that only experienced programmers can understand. This series is different. | A new Ruby site for Rubyists, by Rubyists Recently, rubylang.info launched. Your first impressions may be that it's more or less just like ruby-lang.org, Ruby's official site. And you'd be right, at least on the surface. It provides a lot of the same information and links, so why a new site? The new rubylang.info site is itself open source. It's licensed under the creative commons license. The source is on Github. And, according to their own site, "If you would like to contribute to the site in any way, please fork us on Github." | Combining Nodes In the 19th DOM "JavaScript By Example" we look at how to combine two nodes that we have created together before we add them to the web page. By attaching all of the new nodes together first and then inserting it into the page we will have everything appear at once instead of one node at a time. | | | | Programming Ads | | | | Featured Articles | | | | | | Sign up for more free newsletters on your favorite topics | | | | You are receiving this newsletter because you subscribed to the About Programming newsletter.
